Warehouse Associate – Cargo Handling

Location: Springfield Gardens, NY 11413 Pay: $22/hr Position type: Temp-to-permanent for the right candidate Schedule: Monday–Saturday (5 days/week), flexible between two shifts

• Shift A: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Shift B: 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Candidates must be flexible to work either shift depending on weekly scheduling needs.

About the Role

A global logistics company in Springfield Gardens is seeking Warehouse Associates to support daily cargo handling, freight processing, and warehouse operations. This role is ideal for someone with prior warehouse experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced cargo environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort, label, and process inbound and outbound cargo
• Load and unload freight safely and efficiently
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment (certification can be renewed if needed)
• Handle basic shipping paperwork and documentation
• Perform data entry in warehouse systems and maintain accurate records
• Follow all safety, security, and TSA/warehouse compliance procedures
• Support general warehouse duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior warehouse experience required
• Forklift experience strongly preferred (certification can be obtained or renewed)
• Experience with cargo sorting, labeling, and freight handling
• Ability to process basic shipping paperwork
• Basic computer/data entry skills; comfortable using warehouse systems
• Ability to lift, move, and handle freight as needed
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work 5 days/week (Mon–Sat)

Schedule & Work Environment

• 5 days per week (closed Sundays & holidays)
• Must be flexible to work either shift depending on weekly staffing needs
• Minimum 6 hours per day when scheduled
• Fast-paced warehouse environment handling international cargo

Pay: $22.00 per hour
