The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for defining and evolving Client’s Azure‑first enterprise data architecture to enable trusted analytics, operational intelligence, self‑service data products, and AI‑enabled use cases across the organization. This role translates business strategy into scalable, secure, and cost‑effective data solutions spanning data modeling, data platform strategy, integration patterns, master data management (MDM), reference data management (RDM), data governance, data quality, data catalog, and metadata management across operational and analytical domains.

Operating as both a strategic leader and technical architect, the Senior Data Architect owns enterprise data architecture standards and reference architecture, leads platform and vendor selection, architects solutions, and mentors delivery teams. The role maintains deep technical credibility through solution design, proof-of-concept development, architectural reviews, and close partnerships with data engineering, analytics, and application teams.

  • Own Azure‑first data platform strategy and reference architectures, selecting technologies or combinations of technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Snowflake on Azure, and Power BI.
  • Lead platform and vendor evaluations, technical assessments, and proofs of concept to inform architecture and investment decisions.
  • Establish and govern enterprise data domains, data models, and integration standards to ensure consistency and reuse.
  • Design enterprise‑scale data architectures, including logical and physical models, solution diagrams, and end‑to‑end data flow patterns.
  • Architect lakehouse and data warehouse solutions, including medallion (raw/curated/consumption) layers optimized for analytics.
  • Define and standardize Azure‑native data integration patterns, including batch and near‑real‑time ETL/ELT using Azure platform services.
  • Ensure master data management (MDM), data governance, data quality, security, and compliance are embedded into architecture designs.
  • Architect data patterns that support AI, ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI readiness, including analytics, model training, inference, and RAG use cases.
  • Apply DevOps and CI/CD practices to data solutions, including infrastructure‑as‑code and automated deployments.
  • Review and guide architectures for ERP, CRM, analytics, and data platform initiatives, including integrations with systems such as Dynamics 365 F&O/CE, Infor XA, SAP, Workday, and Entra.
  • Maintain architecture documentation, standards, and reference materials to support consistency and adoption.
  • Collaborate with other enterprise architects (e.g. infrastructure, networking, security, etc.), data engineers, analytics teams, application teams, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
  • Support data governance and data catalog initiatives from a data architecture perspective.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and architects and lead through influence across teams.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, and data architecture roles.
  • 5+ years operating in a senior or lead data architect capacity with enterprise‑scale responsibility.
  • Hands‑on, production experience with Azure‑supported data platforms, including: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Snowflake on Azure, Power BI
  • Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing enterprise‑scale data architectures and building AI‑ready data foundations.
  • Proven capability designing enterprise data integration pipelines and modern analytics platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), including lakehouse and data warehouse architectures.
  • Advanced SQL skills with solid proficiency in Python and/or Scala.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing data integration pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Talend, Informatica, or similar.
  • Established experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Practical experience incorporating master data management (MDM), reference data management (RDM), data governance, data catalog, metadata, lineage, and data quality concepts into enterprise data architectures.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with strong documentation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience in the manufacturing domain is a significant plus
