We are hiring a Senior IT Security Specialist who is highly motivated, a self-starter, and willing to join our client via a six-month contract-to-hire engagement. In this role, you will be part of a small team of four analysts who provide application analysis and support for our client’s core business systems.
You Will:
- Maintains knowledge of current security best practices and works with the organization to implement those that will protect company data and maintain its security environment.
- Conducts IT Security assessments, audits, and testing of internal systems. Provides recommendations and overall enterprise technical security management, and develops recommendations for enterprise-wide information security practices, policies, and procedures.
- Perform analysis of network security needs, contributing to the design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
- Evaluate products and/or procedures to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of information security across the organization.
- Perform day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions and implementation of new security solutions.
- Work with other areas of the organization and IT to develop mitigation plans and remediate issues when necessary.
- Troubleshoots network access issues that indicate potential security violations.
- Develop and help implement network security policies and procedures.
- Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
- Work with internal and external auditors/examiners to ensure the timely completion of security reviews and that remediation steps are taken in response to any findings.
- Monitor systems for alerts that might indicate a security incident or violation.
- Collaborate with vendors, colleagues, management, and agencies to detect and halt security issues that pose threats
- Monitor and respond to system-generated alerts in adherence to the event management guidelines.
You Have:
- A four-year college degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field, or commensurate experience.
- Have at least eight (8) years of experience as a network security analyst or related area within Information Technology Security.
- Experience working with CrowdStrike products (Falcon MDR - Managed Detection and Response, Shield, etc.) in a production environment.
- Proficiency using LogRhythm SIEM, Mimecast Advanced Email Security, and modern edge defense security tools.
- Hold CompTIA Security+ and CISSP certifications. Additional specialized security certifications, such as CISA, CISM, etc., are preferred.
- Possess advanced proficiency in NextGen Firewall administration, Fortinet is preferred.
- Experience with a variety of IT Security responsibilities, including: Risk Assessments, Firewall Audits, Policy Reviews, SOC2 reviews, etc.
- A demonstrated ability to lead technical implementation of security projects across the enterprise.
- Proficiency in performing forensic analysis to determine the root cause of problems
- Possess well-developed communication skills using courtesy and discretion.
- Possess the demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment and being in the office three times/week in North Charleston, SC.
- The ability to successfully complete a credit check, background check & drug test as a condition of employment.
