The Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Paint & Robotics Technician, based out of our Charlestown, Indiana location. Responsibilities would include:
- Robot Programming & Optimization: Create, modify, and optimize 6-axis robot paths and paint parameters (gun distance, trigger points, fan patterns) to improve transfer efficiency and reduce paint consumption
- System Setup: Independently set up and calibrate automated spray equipment and applicators for new and in-production parts.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve robotic, mechanical, electrical, or paint process issues on the production floor to minimize downtime.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance and repair end-of-arm tooling, paint robots, and secondary equipment.
- Quality Control: Ensure paint finish meets OEM specifications (film build, adhesion, appearance)
- Documentation: Maintain updated, accurate robot programs, standard work instructions, and setup sheets.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an automated, industrial manufacturing environment, specifically working with paint robots.
- Programming Skills: Proven hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting 6-axis robots (FANUC or similar).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of paint application techniques, fluid deliver systems, and coating processes.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis on paint defects.
- Education: Technical diploma or certificate in Robotics, Mechatronics, or Automation (or equivalent experience).
