Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for assembling small electronic automotive parts using highly automated equipment in a unionized team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up jobs with part/packing material and operate highly automated assembly equipment.
- Perform manual assembly operations such as hand soldering, applying components, de-paneling circuit boards, date coding and other identification.
- Inspect product using blueprints as reference.
- Box assemblies and palletize.
- Record production statistics in database.
- Other job activities as assigned.
Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; previous industrial work experience preferably in an assembly position using computerized equipment
- Ability to learn all production tasks within assigned department and rotate as directed
- Familiarity with blueprints and FIFO (first in first out)
- Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures, quality procedures, and environmental health and safety procedures
Equipment Used:
- Computerized production equipment, variety of small hand tools including but not limited to soldering irons, torque wrenches, pliers, scissors, handheld tape dispenser, box cutter (utility knife), magnification tables/scopes
Personal Protective Equipment/Clothing Required (PPE):
- Safety glasses with attached side shields; ESD smock and grounding equipment
- Heat resistant and/or cut resistant gloves – based on workstation
- Disposal gloves/finger cots as required
