About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented team member to support furniture testing, assembly, and quality evaluation in a warehouse environment as a Specialist, Furniture Quality & Assembly. This role works closely with the Sourcing Manager to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
This is a part-time opportunity, approximately 20-25 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and compare furniture samples to identify quality differences
- Pull and stage products for testing and review
- Assemble furniture following manufacturer instructions
- Inspect products for defects, missing parts, and functionality
- Assist with product testing and document results
- Support inventory, warehouse, and rework initiatives
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and use basic tools
- Mechanical aptitude for assembly and testing
- Forklift/pallet jack certification (or willingness to obtain
- Willingness to learn warehouse systems (Manhattan WMS)
Essential Physical Functions of the Role Include:
- Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling furniture boxes and product materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 100 pounds with team assistance
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assembling furniture components
- Use of basic hand tools for assembly and testing purposes
- Operating warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (certification required or willingness to obtain)
- Work is performed in a distribution center setting, which may include varying temperatures, warehouse noise, and active equipment operation.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small items.
