Description
Purpose / General Description:
A Yard Assistant is responsible for operating a front-end loader, unloading cement and flyash tankers, and assisting the Plant Manager with daily tasks in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and adhering to company procedures to ensure a quality product and continuous plant operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate Equipment Safely and in Compliance with All Regulations: Comply with Safety requirements during operation of Loader processes and maintenance/housekeeping of plant and equipment.
- Produce Quality Product During Mixing and Delivery: Ensure compliance with work instructions. Monitor quality in loading of materials into Bins. Report quality concerns. Unload cement and flyash tankers as needed.
- Perform Loader and Plant Maintenance Activities: Perform daily maintenance on Loader and perform plant maintenance and housekeeping activities as directed by Plant Manager and complete required inspection forms
- Perform Plant Maintenance Activities: Perform plant maintenance and housekeeping activities as directed by Plant Manager.
- Present a Professional Image: Consistently provide premier customer service, act professionally at all times and maintain a positive and productive relationship with all customers.
- Other Duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Loader Certification Required.
- 1 Year Experience in Operation of Loaders
- Ability to perform physical activities, lifting 75 lbs., maneuvering into and around equipment, walking job sites.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with processes and recommend improvements.

Employees must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. Prolonged periods of standing, walking & lifting are an essential part of this position.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
