Job Title: Sr. Financial Analyst, FP&A
Compensation: $117,000 - $143,000 Annual Salary
The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. In this role, you will be more than a financial reporter-serving as a trusted partner to business leaders, helping them understand their P&L and guiding financial decisions that support Din Tai Fung's continued growth. This position offers exposure to new restaurant development, capital investment strategy, and operational finance across a growing restaurant organization.
Responsibilities:
- P&L Management & Performance Analysis: Own and monitor key components of the P&L, analyzing performance against budget, forecast, and prior year. Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities-providing actionable insights to leadership and driving financial accountability with operational stakeholders.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Modeling: Lead key elements of the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles. Build and maintain financial models that reflect key business drivers and operational assumptions. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop accurate bottom-up forecasts.
- Business Partnership - Development & Capital Investments: Serve as the primary financial partner for Development and Capital Investments teams. Translate financial results into clear insights to support data-driven decision-making. Evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives and strategic investments.
- New Restaurant Opening (NRO) & Capital Investment Analysis: Build financial models to evaluate NROs and capital investments. Perform post-investment analysis to assess performance versus original expectations and identify areas for improvement.
- Reporting, Dashboards & KPI Tracking: Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that track key financial and operational metrics. Present monthly and quarterly financial results to the CFO and senior leadership, providing clear commentary on drivers and variances.
- Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects: Support strategic initiatives and cross-functional finance projects. Provide financial insights and recommendations that influence operational and investment decisions.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- 5 - 7 years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or a related analytical role in restaurant, retail, multi-unit, or other similar industries
- Advanced Excel financial modeling (e.g., DCF, ROI, Scenario Sensitivity)
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Strong ability to analyze large datasets and build scalable financial models
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify root causes and key business drivers
- Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting monthly/quarterly financial results to the CFO or Head of Finance
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with ERP/EPM tools (e.g., UKG, SAGE, NetSuite, Crunchtime)
- Prior experience in restaurant, retail, or multi-unit operations finance
- Familiarity with new unit opening (NUO/NRO) ramp analysis and capital investment evaluation
- Proven track record of translating complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership
