Full-Time Servicer – Cortland

HOURS OF LABOR: 1:00pm-9:30pm (Monday - Friday)

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, a cleaner/servicer is responsible for maintaining the scheduled cleaning and servicing of buses and the facility. Thorough cleaning of interior and exterior of bus is required along with the facility. Cleaner/Servicer must be able to move buses within the facility for exterior cleaning and servicing. Position is also responsible for fueling buses.

DUTIES:

Bus cleaning process involves several duties, such as:

1. Pick up loose debris from bus interior.
2. Sweep out the entire interior of bus.
3. Wipe off seats.
4. Dust before washing the interior
5. Wash the windshield, the entire driver's area, all walls, windows and seats,
6. Mop floors.
7. Remove any gum or writing from the bus interior.
8. Wash the interior ceiling of bus.

Bus servicing process of this position consists of:

1. Drive bus into fueling area and fuel approximately 20 vehicles.
2. Check fluids on buses: oil, transmission and anti-freeze
3. Add fluids if low: oil, transmission, and anti-freeze.
4. Bring bus to fare box vault area and empty fare box vault if applicable.
5. Make sure all windows are closed.
6. Bring bus through wash rack, slowly or wash the outside of the bus.
7. Park bus in storage area.

The facility cleaning involves:

1. Empty the trash in the offices, operations and maintenance areas.
2. Vacuum/sweep and mop the floors in offices, operations and maintenance areas.
3. Dust the offices, operations and maintenance area.
4. Clean the bathrooms, including sinks, toilets and floors.
5. Refill toilet paper and paper towels.
6. Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Must be able to take directions and be agile.
3. Must be able to read/write English and basic mechanical knowledge.
4. Must have a valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record.
5. Must be at least 18 years old and in good physical condition.
6. On occasion you may be required to clean bodily fluids/excrement on buses with the exception of blood borne pathogens.
7. Prior to employment you must obtain a Class B permit. Will be trained on the job to obtain a Class B License to move the buses.
