Description
Do you have proven experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment? Are you looking for a schedule that's not too early in the morning but still allows plenty of evenings? We are seeking a detail-oriented and capable Senior Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team at our Sun Prairie Plant.
The Senior Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for receiving, organizing, sorting, transferring and shipping materials from one location to another. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, excellent organizational skills, and experience working with warehouse computer systems; typing, data entry, submitting forms, warehouse inventory software, setting up FedEx/UPS on the computer, printing labels, etc. Additionally, they will have prior experience using a variety of hand and power industrial trucks (pallet jack, Power pallet jack, and reach truck) to transport items throughout the plant and warehouse, move finished products into and out of inventory, pull orders both parcels and LTL and unload trucks, as well as meet schedules and perform the work as described below.
SHIFT AVAILABLE:
- 1st Shift (6:30 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday) with two paid 15-minute breaks

What Does My Workday Look Like in This Role?
- Reads shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed.
- Contacts carrier representatives to make arrangements and to issue instructions for loading of finished products.
- Annotates shipping orders to inform personnel of loading location and time of arrival of transportation.
- Collaborate with appropriate department(s) to list/track expected deliveries.
- Receive deliveries, completes paperwork/data input, places materials in appropriate location and ensures Accounting Department has what's needed to bill/pay.
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments and/or receiving replacements.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety rules/regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful people in this role have the following skills:
- Proven experience in a Warehouse, Shipping, and Receiving role in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior power industrial truck experience in a production environment.
- Proficient in using shipping software and inventory systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capable of maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and locations within the warehouse.
- Effectively read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Competent with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to walk and stand frequently during an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Essential Physical & Environmental Functions
- Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8–12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.
- Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
- Manual Dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials, boxes, and other components.
- Range of Motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.
- Sensory/Vision: Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.
- Work Environment: Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
