Housekeeping Associate/Floor Technician, Woodward North

Position Summary: The WN Housekeeping Associate/Floor Tech reports to the WN Service Manager and is key support position for the Facilities Department. Schedule is Monday-Friday, with additional weekend work based on operational needs.

Specific Duties Include:

• Ensures that buildings/facilities are cleaned and maintained to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with sanitation regulations.
• Responsible for cleaning restrooms, classroom, dining facilities, common areas, furniture, floors, exteriors, etc. as assigned campus wide.
• Responsible for reporting anything broken or damaged, so it can be repaired or replaced.
• Attends all required staff meetings.
• Follows daily, weekly, and monthly floor cleaning schedules for all types of floors within assigned areas.
• Operates carpet extractors, auto-scrubbers, riding floor machines and other mechanical floor cleaning equipment following manufacturer's guidelines.
• Scrubs, cleans and maintains floors as directed.
• Provides daily preventive maintenance, repairs and reports issues with all assigned equipment.
• Performs stripping and waxing, as required, using pre-determined standards and expectations.
• Communicates to supervisor the need for additional cleaning supplies and equipment repair as needed.
• Reports anything unusual they see happen on campus to immediate supervisor or security.
• Attends all staff meetings and training as required.
• Complies with all rules of the department as specified in the employee manual and shared expectations.
• Other duties as assigned by the WN Service Manager and/or the Director of Facilities.

Required Skills:

• Must be able to follow supervision.
• Must be able to use a vacuum cleaner and other required cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• One year of experience in housekeeping or other related field.
• High School Diploma preferred, but not required.

The Floor Care Specialist position is a non-exempt, twelve-month position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
