Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-driven Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our commercial construction division. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across monthly financials, WIP reporting, and key accounting processes.

The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and proactive - someone who enjoys working collaboratively while owning their work with pride.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
  • Review journal entries submitted by project accountants.
  • Lead and execute month-end close activities.
  • Manage fixed asset purchases, leases, and disposals.
  • Prepare monthly WIP schedules and allocation worksheets.
  • Partner with project leaders and department managers to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Generate reports and analysis for internal teams as needed.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Maintain well-organized financial records and documentation.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (construction industry experience or internships a plus).
  • Strong experience with general ledger processing and preparing/reviewing financial statements.
  • Prior experience with WIP schedules required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, CMIC, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset.
