SUMMARY:

Notifies security officers of activity requiring security presence. Handles emergency and non-emergency phone calls from customers and Team Members. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives calls concerning guest issues, emergencies, and other requests for Security assistance; monitors and calls law enforcement for emergencies.
  • Responsible for the protection of Prairie Band Casino & Resort's assets.
  • Monitors key alarm systems.
  • Broadcasts orders to Security Officers in vicinity to investigate complaint or request when appropriate; relays instructions or questions from remote units.
  • Receives calls for escorts from departments, dispatches Security Officer to accommodate.
  • Prepares and submits reports as required.
  • Confers with Management on any detection of infringements or situations worthy of investigation.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental standard operating procedural manuals and casino policies and procedures.
  • Ensures departmental daily records are accurate and maintained.
  • Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
  • Other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic mathematic proficiency
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone, often in stressful situations.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of radio dispatch regulations, procedures, protocols, and/or equipment.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
  • Ability to follow instructions in verbal and written format
  • Must adhere to the professional appearance standard as outlined in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
  • Ability to meet attendance guidelines set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment

Preferred

  • 6 months previous customer service or related experience

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel and grip items
  • Have a sense of urgency and keep up with fast paced business practices
  • Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Must be able to tolerate areas with secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
  • Able to use tact when dealing with difficult customers
  • Must be physically able to restrain combative customers
  • Must be able to meet the level one or sedentary work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
