Accounting Specialist

Overview

One of our clients in Buford is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial statement preparation, double-entry bookkeeping, and accounts receivable. This position requires knowledge of accrual accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and familiarity with GAAP. The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Duties

· Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

· Set up employees in timekeeping software and perform payroll duties, including state and federal withholding payments

· Manage accounts payable process, including entering and paying vendor invoices

· Perform double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions

· Manage accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations

· Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls as required

· Conduct monthly accrual accounting and perform banking reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting

· Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with GAAP standards

· Utilize accounting software to record and track financial transactions

Experience

· Degree in Accounting or related field

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles

· Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and analysis

· Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping principles

· Experience managing accounts receivable processes

· Knowledge of accrual accounting practices

· Experience in budgeting and forecasting processes

· Thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

· Proficiency in using the QuickBooks Server-based software
