Description
The City of Solon has an opening for a Part-Time Records Clerk in the Police department for approximately 28 hours per week. This position is scheduled to work various hours through the week which could include some evening and weekend shifts. The Part-Time Records Clerk position works under the general supervision of the Police Administration.
Records staff perform clerical, secretarial and administrative work, as well as customer/counter service in an environment that requires maintaining confidentiality and adherence to all applicable records laws. Typical duties include data entry, report filing, customer service, accepting fines and payments, preparing reports, disseminating public records and processing mail. The successful applicant should have the ability to perform various office duties including answering the telephone or switchboard, typing, cashiering, filing and other abilities, skills or training that may be required within the department. Applicants must be able to be courteous in dealing with the public and will be a primary point of contact for the Police department lobby.
This position requires one year of related office experience and a high school degree or GED equivalence certificate. In addition, specialized course work in office practices and relevant computer software are highly desirable. Prior experience in a Law Enforcement setting is preferred and applicants will be required to pass criminal background checks and have the ability to maintain a state LEADS certification (Ohio Law Enforcement Automated Data System).
This position offers a starting rate of $19.9972/hour.
