Description
Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a full-time HVAC Technician to perform all facets of heating system installation, repair, and maintenance. This position plays a critical role in supporting the school's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained campus environment. The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, installing new units, and responding to emergencies as needed.

A Day in the Life:
The HVAC Technician at NMH ensures the functionality and efficiency of the school's heating and plumbing systems. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing oil burners, hot water systems, and ventilation systems, installing new HVAC units, and responding to emergencies such as sewer backups. The Technician also performs minor plumbing repairs, documents work thoroughly, and follows safety procedures. Staying current with Massachusetts HVAC regulations through continuing education is expected. This role supports the physical infrastructure that enables a healthy and productive school environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Refrigeration Certification (EPA 608)
- Oil Burner License (If the applicant does not already hold an oil burner license, NMH will support them in obtaining the required licensure within six months of hire.)
- Valid Driver's License and ability to drive safely
- Regular attendance and dependability
- Ability to lift and transport 50+ pounds
- Frequent stooping and kneeling
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pipe and Gas Fitters License
- Journeyman's Plumbing License
This is an onsite position.
This is a full time, calendar year position.
Monday - Friday 6 AM - 2:30 PM with occasional weekends and call-ins as necessary.
