EHS Manager | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions for all EHS-related incidents.
  • Manage and oversee all EHS training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing specialized training.
  • Maintain and update all required EHS permits, licenses, and documentation.
  • Develop and manage the EHS budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance and culture.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations and standards.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are highly preferred.
  • Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to EHS.
  • Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Enablon).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, to communicate with a diverse workforce.
