Position Summary

The Academics Associate Team Member will serve with the YFC Academics team to support and expand youth ministry education throughout Southeast Asia. This role will focus on developing relationships with local churches and seminaries, training youth workers, and strengthening the presence and influence of youth ministry in academic settings.

You will be part of a dynamic team helping to build youth ministry programs within Bible colleges and seminaries-raising up the next generation of youth leaders across Asia.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual & Missional Commitments

• Live out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a disciple-maker.
• Participate in regular prayer, Bible study, and worship within the Youth for Christ team and local church community.
• Uphold and commit to Youth for Christ International's Statement of Faith.

Youth Ministry & Academic Engagement

• Encourage and mentor local youth workers.
• Recruit students through church partnerships and networking.
• Teach or assist in youth ministry training programs at seminaries or Bible colleges.
• Support administrative tasks to ensure smooth operation of academic programs.
• Coach and guide youth leaders in personal and ministry development.
• Advocate for youth ministry across Southeast Asia.
• Serve national Youth for Christ movements based on local needs.
• Engage in personal academic growth through study, research, and writing.
• Remain an active and contributing member of your local church and community.

Team Participation

• Attend and contribute to regular YFC Academics team meetings and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (minimum)
• Proficient in English; knowledge of Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, or Malay is a plus
• Vocational experience in youth ministry (church, Youth for Christ, or similar organization)
• Passion for relational ministry and youth leader development
• Willingness to pursue further theological education
• Cross-cultural ministry experience or interest
• Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills

Other Requirements

• Must raise full financial support for salary and ministry expenses (training and coaching available)
• Willing to relocate or travel within Southeast Asia as needed
• Flexibility to work in various cultural and academic contexts
