General Statement of Duties
This is a temporary position of no more than 29 hours per week . No Benefits.
Work hours will be 9:00 am-3:00 pm Monday- Thursday and 9:00-2:00 pm Fridays.
Essential Duties
- Performs additional responsibilities assigned to support department and organizational goals.
- This unique office assistant role will work with our Extended Learning Specialist, supporting the Extended Learning Department Programs, which include HCPS Summer Academy, Evening School of Excellence, Edgenuity, and Center for Diversified Studies. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is essential.
- Provide assistance to all HCPS registrars and school counselors regarding the registration process, deadlines, and procedures for Summer Academy, Edgenuity, and Evening School of Excellence.
- Support program implementation with data entry for student registration, enrollments, and attendance verification.
- Create documents and forms (both hardcopy and electronic). Proofread forms, letters, and/or reports for accuracy. Maintaining and organizing correspondence between HCPS departments and schools regarding program implementation.
- Answer emails and phone calls pertaining to the Extended Learning Department. Ability to listen, understand, and effectively communicate solutions to the HCPS Community regarding Summer Academy, Evening School of Excellence, and Edgenuity by email, phone, and/or in person.
- Assist with organization, distribution, and inventory of Summer Academy supplies to/from school sites.
- Assist with Summer Academy final report card process and grade distribution to School Counseling Departments at all HCPS Middle and High Schools.
- Works with team members to promote a positive work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attends work daily and be engaged in job responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of related clerical experience.
- Considerable knowledge of spelling, punctuation, English grammar, and professional telephone etiquette.
- Proficient in modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, with strong typing skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate departmental, divisional, or program policies, procedures, and services.
- Ability to maintain moderately complex records with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated speed and accuracy in data entry; able to proofread, write legibly, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Strong ability to follow directions, read and organize information, and interact with tact and courtesy.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) is preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

This position is open until filled. This is a temporary position of no more than 29 hours per week .
$17.11 PER HOUR
