Job Description / Essential Elements:
FALLBROOK UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
MAINTENANCE WORKER II
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under direction of the Supervisor of Maintenance and Grounds, performs general maintenance work in connection with the repair, renovation and preventative maintenance of school facilities and equipment. May work independently with a crew, or with tradesmen, and do other related work as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair and construction work in all of the basic building trades.
• Assists tradesmen in the performance of work in the District.
• May assist Groundskeepers in the performance of work in that classification.
• Performs maintenance and repairs to swimming pools and associated equipment.
• May be required to handle toxic chemicals and materials.
• May perform maintenance on District owned vehicles and other power equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of: Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the construction trades.
The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three years experience as a Maintenance Worker I or equivalent.
Working conditions: School/Office environment
Supervisor: Supervisor of Maintenance/Grounds
Work Year: 8 Hours per day, 12 Months per year
Overtime Status: Non-Exempt
