Major Responsibilities and Duties
?? Grounds Maintenance & Curb Appeal

• Exterior Upkeep: Maintain the school grounds to the highest standard, ensuring the campus looks its best for students and the community.
• Landscaping: Perform regular mowing, weed eating, and trimming of all grass areas, bushes, and trees.
• Property Cleanliness: Keep sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat, clean, and free of debris or hazards.
• Equipment Care: Safely operate and maintain outdoor power equipment including lawn mowers, edgers, and weed eaters.

? Interior Cleaning & Aesthetics

• Maintain Excellence: Follow a consistent cleaning schedule for floors, windows, furniture, restrooms, and classrooms.
• Waste Management: Comply with local laws and procedures for the proper storage and disposal of trash.
• Inventory: Monitor cleaning and grounds supplies; proactively request refills to ensure the team is always prepared.

?? General Maintenance & Support

• Daily Setup: Assist with lunchroom transitions (tables/chairs) and prepare facilities for special school events or outdoor activities.
• Preventive Care: Perform minor building repairs and monitor HVAC systems to ensure student comfort and energy efficiency.
• Support: Move furniture or heavy equipment within the building as directed by the Principal.

??? Safety & Security

• Facility Safeguarding: Assist in the opening and closing of the building, ensuring all exit doors and panic bolts are functional and secure.
• Proactive Safety: Follow established techniques for lifting and climbing; immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions on the grounds or in the building.

• Education/Certification: None specified.
• Experience: None required; we value a strong work ethic and a reliable "can-do" attitude.
• Special Knowledge/Skills:
  
  • Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance, including minor repair techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy cleaning and outdoor landscaping equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions for chemicals and safety procedures.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Tools Used: Buffer, stripper, wet/dry vacuum, electric drill, hand tools, lawn mower, edger, and weed eater.
• Posture/Motion: Requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and reaching.
• Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis.
• Environment: Ability to work both inside and outside in various weather conditions (extreme heat/cold), often on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Schedule: Regular work in irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours during peak school events.
