Part-Time Custodian

Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to follow written and oral directions
Previous related experience is highly desirable

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and procedures, cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment used in custodial work. Must be able to safely perform manual labor. Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Depending on the school schedule, clean classrooms, halls, cafeteria, offices, staff room, media centers, bathrooms, and storage areas.

Cleaning includes, but not limited to, cleaning sinks, dusting/polishing surface areas, whiteboards, floors, carpet, windows, sills, walls, lights, woodwork, mirrors, floor waxing, and wastebaskets.

Responsible for keeping areas well stocked with needed paper supplies and soap.

Assists with the inventory of related job materials.

Strives constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the children, staff, and the public in a positive manner.

Assists in snow removal.

During student vacations, assists with the operation of garden equipment and thorough cleaning of the facility.

Reports safety, sanitary, and fire hazards.

Performs other related tasks as assigned.
