Position Summary

The Power Grid Assembly & Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all physical inventory, packaging, assembly, part marking, and kitting activities that support OMS’s power grid customer base. This role ensures accurate material management, efficient workflow, and high-quality output across the power grid work cells. The supervisor partners closely with planning, production, and inventory teams to maintain material readiness, support liner launch processes, and drive continuous improvement throughout the department.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Material Management

  • Oversee all physical inventory within the power grid area, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods for all power grid customers.
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions, proper material flow, and timely staging of raw materials to support liner launch processes and daily production needs.
  • Work closely with the inventory team to conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor storage, labeling, and organization of materials to support efficient retrieval and traceability.

Assembly, Packaging & Kitting Oversight

  • Manage all packaging, assembly, part marking, and kitting operations for power grid customer orders.
  • Ensure work is completed according to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and OMS quality standards.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and workflow to meet production schedules and on-time delivery expectations.
  • Maintain standardized work instructions and ensure team members follow proper procedures.

Process Improvement & Quality

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and material flow.
  • Drive the development and implementation of standardized work, visual controls, and best practices within the power grid assembly and inventory areas.
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues, implement corrective actions, and enhance process reliability.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and operational excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with planning and production teams to ensure raw materials are staged, managed, and replenished accurately to support power grid work cells.
  • Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders regarding material readiness, production status, and potential constraints.
  • Support coordination between assembly, inventory, logistics, and customer service to ensure seamless order fulfillment.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, train, and develop team members in assembly, packaging, and inventory functions.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to support skill growth and operational success.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment aligned with OMS values and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing supervision or team leadership; assembly or inventory management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and production schedules.
  • Experience with ERP systems and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Exposure to typical fabrication shop conditions including noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
