Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our long-term care team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and safety of our facility, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Ensure resident rooms, common areas, and grounds are maintained in a clean, safe, and functional condition.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist with snow removal, lawn care, and general upkeep of facility grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local health and safety regulations.
  • Support the Environmental Services and Housekeeping teams as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Must be dependable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work as required.
  • Must pass a background check and meet facility health requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC certification or related technical training.
  • Prior experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or assisted living facilities.

Rates are based on experience and schedule.
