Maintenance Clerk
Location: 701 E Continental Ave, Tulare, CA 93274
Shift: Nights - 12hr; 5:30 pm - 5:00 am, 5 days per week (Monday - Saturday)
Job Overview
As a Parts Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the maintenance department. This position involves a combination of administrative duties, inventory management, and coordination to ensure that the Reliability department is well maintained.

Facilitate ordering and maintenance of department office supplies, maintaining proper inventory levels for designated areas

Track and monitor inventory supply levels for tools and parts utilizing JDE software to maintain equipment information and documentation

Assist with routine monthly equipment and building maintenance tasks by supporting Smurfit WestRock\u2019s preventative maintenance schedules
-
Prepare parts/equipment kits and make pick-ups accessible for mechanics/electricians to complete the job

Receive inventory, create new labels, and enter new part numbers into JDE software
-
Fulfill order replenishments of machine parts for maintenance technicians

Research parts in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) catalogue to identify cost-efficient parts and equipment

Partner with the Reliability Manager to assess problems identified and validate parts needed on maintenance checklist

Partner with Maintenance Planner/ Scheduler to ensure parts are ordered and delivered on- time during outages
What you need to succeed:
-
High School diploma or G.E.D.
-
1 to 3 years in manufacturing maintenance environment
-
Demonstrated successful track record of effective problem-solving
-
Ability to use computer and related software programs (JDE, CMMS, etc.) to accomplish assigned tasks
-
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-
Ability to maintain complex records and to assemble and organize data
-
Possess some mechanical acumen to proactively identify parts and tools need to the Maintenance team
-
Possess strong collaboration skills with stakeholders across functions
-
Ability to set priorities, achieve deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time
-
Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills
-
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver messages to customers and WestRock employees
General Functions and Responsibilities
-
Work safely, follow all safety practices.

Analyzing data to update KPI\u2019s daily (DMS board metrics)
-
Outstanding organizing skills.
-
Keeping up with inventory in parts room.
-
Cycle counts completed weekly (two cycles).
-
Conduct PMO (preventative maintenance optimization) meeting, for weekend repairs.
-
Efficient with Microsoft suite.
-
Email etiquette.
-
Engage in toolbox meetings with the crew.
-
Parts room/storeroom organization.
-
Reviewing and ordering raw materials - as assigned.
-
Assisting Maintenance coordinator and Maintenance supervisor with weekend repair planning.
-
Input data and run reports utilizing CMMS.
-
Cleanup of work area and shop daily.
-
Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures.

Critical spare parts management (every Monday) - obtain quotes and inventory counts
-
AVM - Reconciling invoice issues.
-
Bin audits - 10 daily
-
Scanning of closed work orders w/ pre-task (daily)
-
Manage Kitting location - auditing & organizing in the parts room and shop area.

Ordering copy paper for departments.
-
Kitting weekend tasks.
-
Paying for propane - Monthly
-
All Monthly filing in a timely manner.
-
Parts requests - Getting quotes/reviewing them with maintenance team.
-
Receiving parts and recording data, in addition to this, send out emails to management when parts arrive.

Update PMO spreadsheet
The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law. Paid vacation, and paid holidays, based on location and subject to annual change.
