Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Administrative Medical Receptionist supporting laboratory services in a vibrant regional healthcare setting in the Central Plains of the United States. This part-time role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients and visitors while ensuring smooth front desk operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and register patients or visitors, notifying staff of arrivals and directing individuals to the appropriate departments or exam rooms.
- Collect and update patient contact details and insurance information, verifying coverage and eligibility.
- Handle co-payments and other fees efficiently and accurately.
- Answer and transfer phone calls, schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and relay messages professionally.
- Perform occasional clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and photocopying, often involving electronic health record systems.
- Maintain strict adherence to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, healthcare team members, and external partners.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- General office experience and prior customer service background preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Aide is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with medical terminology and transcription.
- Proficiency in common computer programs such as Word and Excel.
- Experience with office equipment including copiers and fax machines.
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Physical Requirements
This role involves light physical activity, including occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and standing or walking for 11-25% of the workday. Accommodations can be made as needed.
