Job Description
MAJOR FUNCTION:
Quality assurance testing and calibration of radiation therapy equipment. Quality assurance of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS, SBRT) including plan and chart review and patient specific quality assurance testing as well as various types of brachytherapy procedures including HDR. Assist the head of medical physics in therapy aspects of radiation safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or Radiological Physics required.
- 3-5 years recent experience in radiation therapy physics preferred. New residency graduates are encouraged to apply.
Certification/Licensure:
- Certified in Therapeutic Radiological physics or Radiological Physics and at least three (3) years of clinical experience preferred.
- Eligibility to become an Authorized Medical Physicist for HDR is required.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent Service skills required.
