Job Description

Performs daily cleaning tasks for patients and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned by the Environmental Services Department.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time, Evening, 3:00pm-11:30pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Has customer service knowledge skillsKnows proper hand-washing techniques
  • Knows trash removal process
  • Knows room cleaning process
  • Knows on different types of cleaning such as daily, discharge, terminal and isolation
  • Knows how to clean restrooms in public areas versus patient rooms including showers
  • Has office cleaning experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school graduate or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Prior equivalent work experience in housekeeping, environmental services or related position is a plus.
  • Required to complete one (1) hour of hospital provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on the appropriate cleaning practices to be followed when in departments that process instruments for sterile use (i.e., Sterile Processing, Endoscopy).

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
