Environmental Specialist
The Environmental Specialist will ensure compliance and sustainability across RoyOMartin sites by conducting audits, maintaining records, and upholding environmental standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role focuses on enhancing environmental performance, mitigating risks, and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.
- Environmental Audits: Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with regulations and policies; share findings and solutions with business units.
- Compliance Monitoring: Track permit and regulation compliance; ensure corrective actions are taken as needed.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain organized records of audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
- Permit Management: Assist with permit applications, renewals, and updates; ensure compliance with permit requirements.
- Training & Support: Provide compliance training and guidance to staff; collaborate on environmental improvements.
- Data Collection: Collect, analyze, and interpret water, air, and soil samples.
- Incident Reporting: Investigate and document environmental incidents; support corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement ways to reduce waste, emissions, and resource use.
- Travel: Open to traveling to manufacturing sites as needed.
Behavioral Skills
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail in data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication of environmental concepts and compliance needs.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Office Suite is required. Able to learn or familiar with plant data management systems used in compliance tracking and environmental monitoring.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying issues, proposing solutions, and ensuring implementation.
- Teamwork: Effective collaborator in team-oriented, cross-functional environments.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline, or Environmental Sciences is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of Environmental Regulations: Experience in environmental permitting and compliance across one or more of the following regulatory areas: air (NSR, PSD, Part 70/Title V), water (LPDES/TPDES), or solid waste management
