Job Description

This role involves operating a Class A commercial vehicle to transport building materials within a 100-mile radius, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while providing excellent customer service at each stop.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.

• Transport building materials and other assigned loads within a 100-mile radius.

• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.

• Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when required.

• Secure loads properly to prevent damage or shifting during transit.

• Complete multiple stops per day as scheduled, ensuring on-time deliveries.

• Provide professional and courteous customer service at delivery and pickup locations.

• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and present a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) when required.

• Keep the truck clean, organized, and in good working condition.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of professional driving experience, preferably transporting building materials.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

• Clean driving record with the ability to provide a current MVR.

• Proven experience operating Class A trucks safely and efficiently.

• Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.

• Capability to operate a forklift or willingness to work with material-handling equipment.

• Strong customer service skills and professional communication at delivery sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience handling building materials or working in construction supply delivery.

• Experience performing basic vehicle safety checks and documenting findings.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete multiple stops per day.

• Strong attention to detail when securing loads and completing delivery paperwork.

Work Environment

This is a local driving role with routes generally within a 100-mile radius, starting at 6:00 a.m. and ending when all scheduled deliveries and stops are completed for the day, which may include multiple stops. You operate Class A trucks and may use forklifts or other material-handling equipment to load and unload building materials. The work involves driving, working in and around warehouses, yards, or construction-related facilities, and interacting directly with customers at delivery sites.
