Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end general accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:
• Performs all accounts payable/receivable and general accounting duties
• Prepare month-end accrual entries and journal entries as needed
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, as needed
• Receives, balances, collects, and/or verifies accounting data for completeness and accuracy
• Reconciles and maintains accurate records for bank and company credit card transactions
• Analysis of data may require detailed research into various books and records to ensure accuracy
• Maintains awareness for discrepancies or suspicious circumstances and investigates as required
• Verifies documentation through communication with departmental representatives and vendors to obtain required supporting documentation
• Prepares balance sheet reconciliations monthly, including research and resolution of reconciling items
• Assists in assembling information for various local, state and federal audits and assists auditors as necessary
• Must project professionalism, and a consistently friendly demeanor
• Maintains multiple projects while meeting varying deadlines
• Assists in assembling information for auditors as necessary
• Assists in the collection, transportation, organization, and distribution of physical company mail items
• Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
• Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
• 1 year previous accounting experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Must have strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and detail oriented with strong analytical skills
• Must be able to function both independently and as a member of a team
• Basic mathematic proficiency
• Previous experience using Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel
• Valid driver's license and ability to qualify for company vehicle insurance coverage
• Ability to meet attendance guidelines set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
• Must present a well-groomed professional appearance and maintain uniform/appearance standards set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
• A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Preferred
• Previous Casino Accounting experience
• General ledger account reconciliation experience
• 12 college credit hours in accounting or related field. One-year previous experience in an automated accounting field may be substituted for college credit hour requirement
• Knowledge of inventory processes

• Must be able to meet the level three or medium work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
