HR Intern Opportunity
We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented student to join our Human Resources team. This isn't just a support role-it's an opportunity to learn the mechanics of people operations from the ground up and contribute to meaningful projects that impact our entire organization.
This is a short-term assignment estimated to last between 3 - 5 months.

As an integral part of our HR team, you won't just be filing paperwork-you'll be helping us build a great workplace. Your core duties will include:
- Recruitment & Talent: Assist with job postings, manage applicant tracking, and coordinate interviews with top talent.
- Onboarding: Support the "Day One" experience by helping with new hire orientation and processing.
- Data Management: Keep our personnel files and HR databases organized and up to date.
- Employee Experience: Help plan training programs, engagement initiatives, and company events.
- Research & Projects: Dive into HR projects involving policy updates, compensation research, and compliance.
- Admin Support: Provide general assistance to keep the HR department running smoothly.

• Education: Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college.
• Major: Human Resources major or minor preferred.
• Skills: Strong organization, a high level of confidentiality, and a "people-first" attitude.

- Retirement - Effective January 1, 2013,new members to CalPERS or an agency with CalPERS' reciprocity will be subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA) and will receive 2% @ 62 benefit formula. Employees who are current members of CalPERS or an agency with CalPERS' reciprocity, or who have less than a six month break in service between employment in a CalPERS (or reciprocal) agency and employment with the City will be enrolled in the3% @ 60 benefit formula. All employees are required to pay the full employee contribution to CalPERS.
- 8% EPMC - All employees are required to pay the 8% CalPERS member contribution.
- Medical Insurance - The City contributes up to $1128.40, towards any medical plan selected by the employee and his/her eligible dependents.
- Dental/Vision Insurance - The City contributes up to 80% of the established family premium for dental and vision insurance.
- Life Insurance - Life, AD & D covered at 100% by the City.
- Long-Term Disability - covered at 100% by the City.
- Short-Term Disability - covered at 100% by the City.
- Deferred Compensation - The City offers a choice of two deferred compensation providers.
- Vacation - Accrued at two weeks each year with increases based on years of service.
- Sick Leave- 96 hours annually.
- Management Leave - 70 to 90 hours annually.
- Other Leave- 10 paid holidays and 4 days floating holiday leave.
- 4-10 Work Schedule.
