Secretary III

Secretary III is responsible for recording and transmitting messages, keeping records of calls placed, providing information to callers and visitors, making appointments, keeping a log of visitors, and will include traditional secretarial responsibilities.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Performs traditional secretarial responsibilities
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for customers seeking HHG and Travel assistance
  • Relaying incoming, outgoing, calls, directs callers to requested counselor
  • Recording and transmitting messages; keeping records of calls placed; providing information to callers and visitors
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, ensure that documents are reviewed before it is processed by the assigned counselor.
  • Schedule appointments and brief customers regarding Travel PCS Entitlements
  • Perform general clerical duties included but not limited to filing, report preparation, and other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintains log of all personnel entering or leaving transportation office

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands
  • Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
  • Indoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED, and a minimum of six months of related work experience.
  • Basic understanding of military PCS travel.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Possess a Valid Drivers' License.
Security Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
