Apprentice Plumber

Join a dedicated healthcare facility serving a broad regional community in the Midwest. We are seeking a skilled Plumber to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on various plumbing systems, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with safety standards.

General Summary

The Plumber will handle repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks, prioritizing projects to meet facility needs and regulatory requirements. This role involves coordinating with multiple departments, documenting work progress, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide updates and follow-ups to departments requesting plumbing services.
  • Perform general plumbing repairs and installations as needed.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, keeping detailed records.
  • Prioritize maintenance projects to align with facility needs and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and document maintenance progress, including costs and safety issues.
  • Plan plumbing tasks, estimating supplies and labor costs.
  • Communicate repair and financial information to appropriate managers.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety standards and precautions.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and clutter-free work and storage areas.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory codes and standards.
Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in plumbing is necessary.

Experience

Minimum of two years of commercial plumbing experience is required.

Certifications and Licenses

Medical Gas Certification and Backflow Certification are preferred but not mandatory.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 75 lbs. Good eyesight and steady hands are essential. Ability to perform under stress and wear an N-95 mask as required.

Working Conditions

Work may involve exposure to patients and various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, chemicals, fumes, and infectious materials. Safety and cleanliness are paramount.
