Assistant Business Administrator
The assistant business administrator supports the business administrator in overseeing the financial and operational business functions in SAU 41 which includes the Brookline, Hollis and Hollis-Brookline Cooperative school districts. This includes accounting, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, state financial reporting and audit preparation, while ensuring compliance with New Hampshire Department of Education standards and district policies. This is a full time year round position.
Essential Duties:
- Development and management of district budgets
- Oversee and assist with payroll, taxes, and accounts payable
- Preparation of state reports and financial documents
- Fiscal year closing and audit preparation
- Work collaboratively with administrators, administrative assistants, and human resources
- Attend meetings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by business administrator
Salary & Benefits: $70,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience Includes comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental, vision, life retirement, and paid time off.
Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidates for this position will have:
- 3+ years experience in school finance, municipal finance, or governmental accounting.
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, budgeting
- Experience with financial software and Excel
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or a related field
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in budgeting, accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be able to pass a federal and state criminal background check
