Responsibilities:
- Executes 10-Step Cleaning procedure effectively and efficiently
- Performs Discharge cleaning process properly and within Department guidelines
- Practices hand washing according to infection control guidelines
- Uses scripting whenever entering and interacting in patient rooms
- Maintains proper cart setup, using only approved chemicals for mopping and disinfection
- Keep supplies secure at all times
- Safe and proper use of J-Fill Quattro to assure chemicals are properly diluted, along with knowledge of dwell time for proper surface disinfection
- Uses proper amenities for all patient rooms
- Follows all department and hospital policies and procedures
- Maintains housekeeping equipment and closet organized, clean and dust free
- Sterile areas throughout the hospital maintained according to infection control guidelines
- Participates in inventory control by informing the manager of low or out of stock situations
- Actively participates in quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities
- Contributes to the maintenance of a neat, clean and orderly work environment
- Incorporates the Mission of the Richmond University in serving, patients, visitors and staff
- Completes all assigned work tasks within time allotted by shift without leaving an excessive workload for following shifts
- Communicates with the manager any assignments that could not be completed
- Communicates to the manager any problems and priorities that are of concern
- During the time of low census or lightened workload, completes other tasks such as restocking, cleaning, organizing and assisting co-workers
- When working with chemicals utilizes the proper PPE, dispenses through vendor provided equipment to ensure safety and proper concentration of all cleaning solutions
- Follows appropriate waste management process according to our recycling program
- Adheres to all established processes, systems, standards and training programs for a safe and hygienic working environment
- Complies with all OSHA regulations, and other local, state and federal mandates
- Customer Service greets all visitors, patients and staff with a smile
- Provides kind courteous service and works to exceed the customers' expectations
- Completes all RUMC required annual training on time
- Follows procedures for requesting time off and clocking in and out
