Bookkeeper
At Education Management and Networks, we are looking for an organized and driven bookkeeper to join our central office team! Our ideal candidate for this role will handle day-to-day accounting and finance management and must be a skilled multi-tasker who is reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. This role will report directly to the CEO and president of the company.
Responsibilities include experience in accounting, purchasing, budgeting, fiscal reporting, and treasury functions. Performs payroll and 401(k) functions as needed. Work is to be performed in accordance with GAAP, federal and state regulatory agencies, and additional statutory requirements pertaining to public school academics in Michigan. Must possess knowledge in public school finance, budget, and fund-based accounting functions. Ability to present and deliver analytical data in an articulate manner to a variety of audiences, to include oral presentations and written reports. Must be able to create and maintain budgets, process payments, and monitor encumbrance reports. Creates annual audit reports and files all state and federal reports. Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative culture.
Skills and qualifications must possess an associate's degree in accounting or similar field. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills. Fund-based accounting required. Knowledge in QuickBooks, ADP, SMART, and Pontem.
