Building Maintenance Worker
Salary Range $14.50 Hourly Category Property
Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same daily; performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment.

- All bathrooms (2 buildings) are to be cleaned and sanitized, this includes all sinks, all toilets, mirrors polished and supplies replenished.
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes floors in the main building, including offices and The Chapel and Fellowship Hall.
- Cleans windows, dust and polish furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Empties trash cans regularly.
- Assists in setting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs.
- Monitors lighting and changing light bulbs when needed.
- Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc.
- Drives van to pick up materials and items for repair work.
- Cleans surroundings after each repair job; ensures that all tools are collected and surroundings are left neat and clean.
- Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to TSA.
- Maintains the outside premises, front and back. This includes sweeping sidewalks, picking up litter and sticks.
- Displays "special signs" as needed for safety and direction.
- Completes building maintenance and repair work.
- Perform grounds keeping work.
- Drives The Salvation Army vehicle to pick up and/or deliver miscellaneous items.
- Drives The Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers.
- Performs other related work assignments when asked.
Cleaning Supplies Janitorial Equipment & Tools.
Minimum Qualifications Required: None.
Education and Experience: No formal education or experience required, Six months' experience performing general housekeeping duties An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to perform and complete general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds on site. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions to work independently. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read and communicate the English language. Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform housekeeping and minor maintenance work. Ability to lift, carry, and/or push/pull heavy (50-100+ lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment when needed. Ability to perform duties through a combination of standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching, or transporting items. At times, work assignments may be performed in undesirable outdoor exposure to temperature, dirt and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.
