School Bus Driver - 4 Hours

Position Overview
The successful candidate will operate a school bus on assigned routes, ensuring the safe transportation of students while maintaining a positive and orderly environment. The position is approximately 4 hours per day, typically split between morning and afternoon routes.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid School Bus Driver Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass required background checks, physical, and drug screening
- Strong commitment to student safety and well-being
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous school bus driving experience
- Knowledge of local roads and community
- Experience working with children or in a school setting
Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain discipline and a safe environment on the bus
- Follow all state laws and district transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Report any incidents, concerns, or maintenance needs promptly
Work Schedule
- Approximately 4 hours per day
- Split shift: morning and afternoon routes
- Additional hours may be available for extracurricular trips
Compensation & Benefits
- Wages and benefits per the Brimley Educational Support Personnel (ESP) Master Agreement
- Participation in MPSERS retirement system (as applicable)
- Paid training may be available for qualified candidates needing CDL certification
