Description
The Wellesley Council on Aging (COA) is seeking responsible individual(s) to drive the COA bus. The COA Bus Driver provides safe transportation to medical appointments, stores, and social engagements for Wellesley's senior citizens via a 12-passenger wheelchair-accessible bus. This position requires keeping accurate passenger records and performing daily safety checks.
The work requires a clean driving record, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a sincere concern for the safety of passengers and equipment. The incumbent may occasionally be offered opportunities to drive the bus on other days of the week.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Clean driving record (no moving violations in the past 5 years)
- Patience with and interest in senior citizens
- Basic familiarity with personal computers and spreadsheet software
- CORI check and pre-employment drug screening required
- Mandatory training will be scheduled prior to driving
Work Schedule & Pay:
- Schedule: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 2 days per week (maximum of 19 hours/week)
- On-call: As needed to cover vacations and sick days
- Hourly Rate: $26.15
- Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits
