Bus Driver - Hourly Position

The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a Bus Driver - Hourly Position to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing and challenging classroom environment devoted to helping all students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and other passengers to and from school.
• Learn bus route.
• Understand and obey all traffic laws.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times.
• Ensure the safety of all students.
• Discipline children as needed to maintain a safe environment.
• Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
• Attend safety meetings as required.

Salary

$25.23 - $28.43* Incremental increase depending on relevant driving experience*pending contract negotiationsAttendance Incentive: Drivers absent 3 times or less (personal or sick) in each 2 month period over the school year will receive an attendance bonus as follows:Absent 0-1 days = $200Absent 2-3 days = $150CDL Differential :Valid CDL B license holders who accept CDL Class B assignments are eligible for an end of year differential of$550(pro-rated for drivers working less than the full school year and/or only working 1 shift).

Eligibility requirements: Health insurance is available to eligible drivers who work 30 or more hours per work week, on as-needed basis.
