About Country Care-A-Van

Country Care-A-Van has proudly served Central Minnesota since 1985, providing reliable, specialized transportation with a personal touch. As a Driver, you'll support clients' wellness and independence by offering appointment-based, door-through-door service—assisting clients from their front door to their destination and ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and supported every step of the way.

Driver Responsibilities
  • Follow schedule as assigned
  • Monitor and record daily schedule of runs, miles, location, time, and vehicle fluid levels
  • Assist clients with proper safety measures prior to travel
  • Assist clients with transfer activities
  • Validate appointment for client upon arrival and provide medical authority with any pertinent information required for client safety
  • Maintain van and equipment functionally and appearance
  • Communicate any concerns of vehicle or equipment performance to supervisor
  • Submit accurate reports of client visit information, hours of work and mileage
  • Adhere to program and departmental policies and procedures and observe appropriate safety measures
  • Attend and participate in pertinent in-service education programs
  • Consistently report for duty on time and as scheduled
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned
Driver Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and access to an automobile
  • MN STS driver's certificate or a willingness to obtain certificate by completion of a STS program within 45 days of hire
  • Five years of experience as a licensed driver in the United States
  • Driving record clear of convictions for the preceding three years
  • Genuine interest and concern for all clients
  • Clean and neat appearance
  • Courteous and kind manner
  • Can work harmoniously and skillfully with other staff members, patients and their families
  • Flexible and able to tolerate change or changing demands
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to speak, write and read English in an understandable manner
  • Ability to physically transfer, lift or assist patients with or without the aid of mechanical devices
