MISSION STATEMENT: This position is responsible for assisting the Children's Services Specialist in providing ongoing monitoring and technical assistance to Head Start/Early Head Start staff.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL:
1. Treat participants, fellow staff, and community members with positive regard.
2. Provide administrative assistance to the Children Service Specialist in all aspects of child education.
3. Evaluate all Head Start classrooms twice a year using the Preschool Quality Assessment
(PQA) tool, provide feedback to teaching staff and report finds in database.
4. Assess education staff training needs, identify internal/external training programs to increase
competencies, collaborate with Specialists to organize and/or facilitate trainings.
5. Design assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and track/report training outcomes.
6. Coordinate off-site training activities and out of area travel.
7. Monitor classroom observations and evaluations, area wide and report results
(i.e., PQA, video, Site Observation form).
8. Communicate pertinent information and technical assistance in a reciprocal manner with staff
to inform and educate.
9. Collaborate with center staff to maintain NAEYC Accreditation.
10. Annually, update Direct Service Classroom Staff Professional Development Plans and ensure those plans are followed.
11. Serve as an advisor and technical support to staff as they work to complete a college degree or CDA.
12. Serve as a liaison for CSI Head Start /Early Head Start and local higher education institutions
to improve opportunities for staff members to earn degrees.
13. Assist in the coordination of and participation in orientation/screening, site visits, parent meetings, Policy Council, and advisory boards.
14. Participate in the ongoing program evaluation and planning process.
15. Collaborate with other leadership staff to ensure that Head Start/Early Head Start
maintains the highest quality services.
16. Serve as training and technical assistance support to Head Start/Early Head Start
staff, parents, and volunteers.
17. Attend and participate in Children's Services and Case Management team meetings.
18. Maintain CLASS Certification
19. Participate in an individualized continuing education plan including CPR and First Aid.
