Description

Collections Intern

An intern will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the department. The intern will gain a basic understanding of the railroad industry, including industry structure and some competitive dynamics. The intern will also gain an understanding of G&W's processes, procedures, and systems.

Assist with monitoring outstanding accounts and reach out on overdue balances.

Prepare and send statements and follow-up communications via email and phone.

Work closely with the finance, billing, and customer service teams.

Other duties as assigned

Required skills and experience:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels and continue to maintain a high level of objectivity and independence
  • Self-starter

Required education and/or credentials:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Must have a valid driver's license
