Description
Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician
RSC Mechanical is looking to expand our team and is seeking experienced Refrigeration Service Technicians. Job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, parallel rack systems, etc.)
- Preferred experience with CO₂ refrigeration rack systems, including hands-on work with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transcritical and subcritical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and system checks
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
- Replace or repair compressors, motors, fans, and other key components
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
Qualifications:
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Basic knowledge of commercial HVAC/refrigeration systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; extensive driving is a key part of the role.
- Technicians are expected to supply their own standard hand tools.
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills with clients, team members, and management.
- Able to work under pressure in fast-paced or high-stress environments.
- Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Overtime may be required based on workload
- Participation in an on-call rotation following the training period
