We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our dynamic engineering team. This position is integral to our financial planning and decision-making processes. Your main responsibilities will include analyzing our manufacturing costs, compiling cost reports, and preparing budget forecasts. You will also be responsible for cycle counting and physical inventory. Responsibilities: As a Cost Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing regular cost reports.
- Creating and reviewing the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
- Conducting physical counts of inventory and reconciling floor counts and inventory records.
- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
- Assisting in month end close of the general ledger.
- Conducting audits of costs and preparing reports.
- Implementing a comprehensive cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Maintaining cost accounting system.
- Coordinating with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified public accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
