Crib Attendant

Local Fastener Distributor is looking for a Crib Attendant in Fergus Falls, MN. This position starts at 6:00am- 3:30pm Mon-Thurs (1 hr. lunch) & Friday 6am-12pm (w/o lunch break). 30-40 hours weekly depending on busy season.

Position Summary: The Crib Attendant is responsible for the control, issue, and inventory management of tools, supplies, and equipment stored in the tool crib.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue, receive, track tools, service equipment, and maintain consumable supply reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of all crib transactions using manual logs or computerized inventory systems.
  • Prepare and maintain price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
  • Identify stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, or calibration needs; arrange for repair or replacement as necessary. (assembling / disassembling as needed)
  • Maintain an organized and clean tool crib area to ensure efficient operations and safety compliance.
  • Load and unload items into tool crib areas such as stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
  • Assist in ordering and restocking supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs by ensuring tool availability.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide assistance to internal departments regarding tool or part availability.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Experience with inventory control systems or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and industrial supplies.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily works in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • May be exposed to moderate noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
