Custodian Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Custodian Supervisor, the Custodian (or substitute custodian) cleans and prepares school facilities for use. General duties include picking up trash and emptying trash containers as appropriate and assigned, sweeping, vacuuming, or mopping floors or sidewalks as appropriate, cleaning sinks, bathrooms, and other plumbing facilities as appropriate, cleaning windows, walls, chalkboards, furniture, and equipment as assigned, assisting with moving furniture and equipment as assigned, performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs as assigned, including replacing burned out lights, assisting with maintenance projects as assigned, stocking and delivering school supplies as assigned, and performing related duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, English fluency (spoken and written), basic knowledge of cleaning tasks and related materials, and the ability to lift 104 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.

Requirements/qualifications include a letter of introduction, resume, three current letters of recommendation, the ability to perform duties as assigned, English fluency (spoken and written), flexible work hours, the ability to drive a forklift or willingness to be trained, the ability to climb ladders, and the ability to repair equipment when needed. Additional requirements include a current driver's license, DOJ and FBI background clearances (at time of hire), TB (tuberculin) clearance (at time of hire), completion of district mandated training (within 30 days of hire), and successfully completing related WorkSteps physical (if applicable, at time of hire).
