Data Entry Clerk

Prior experience in clerical, filing, records management, or administrative support roles

Responsibilities:
  • Create electronic records for new files in accordance with Government regulations and deadlines
  • Consolidate, reorganize, and re-jacket files
  • Create and maintain files physically and electronically
  • Conduct data inquiries and searches within Government systems
  • Generate ad hoc reports as requested
  • Scan large, multi-page documents
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in English reading comprehension
  • Comfortable navigating Government-operated information systems
  • Accurate and efficient typing capability (minimum 30 WPM)

This position requires that you obtain a background investigation. As part of this process, the government will perform a criminal, credit, tax, employment, and drug history background check. The government has varying tolerances, with mitigating circumstances, for issues in all of the categories. The government is essentially looking to confirm that you are generally in good financial standing, up to date on your tax filings, rehire eligible with your prior employers, and have adhered to any federal restrictions on illegal drug use, including marijuana, in addition to other checks related on your character and trustworthiness.
