Design Release Engineer Location: Auburn Hills, MI Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift Pay: $43.08/hour We are hiring a Design Release Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Auburn Hills, MI. This Design Release Engineer role is ideal for candidates with strong automotive component experience who understand how parts are designed, released, manufactured, assembled, and tested. This position is a strong fit for an experienced Design Release Engineer with hands-on background in electrical systems, body, interior, propulsion, chassis, steering, HVAC, engine, or driveline components. Responsibilities Support engineering and release activity for automotive components and systems across multiple vehicle areas Review drawings, CAD, BOMs, packaging, and supplier inputs to evaluate design, manufacturability, and cost drivers Work closely with engineering, suppliers, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to support product development and release decisions Support design-to-cost, should-cost, feasibility, and process review activities Evaluate supplier quotes, tooling assumptions, manufacturing methods, and component build strategies Contribute to discussions around how parts are designed, built, assembled, and tested in production environments Qualifications Experience as a Design Release Engineer , Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Component Engineer, or similar automotive engineering role Strong background in at least one of the following: Electrical Systems: sensors, switches, displays, clusters, batteries, starter motors, amplifiers, speakers, infotainment hardware, PCBs, wiring harnesses, electronic assembly Body: stampings, welded assemblies, structural body components, glazing, sealing, exterior panels Interior: injection molding, interior trim, decorative finishes, wrapping, cut and sew, plastic welding, soft-touch components Propulsion: e-motors, inverters, DC-DC converters, onboard chargers, pumps, throttle bodies, engine blocks, cylinder heads, oil pans, axles, transfer cases Chassis / HVAC / Steering: suspension components, steering systems, compressors, heat pumps, HVAC and thermal modules Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, injection molding, die casting, machining, PCB assembly, and component assembly Able to clearly discuss how components are designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested Automotive OEM or Tier 1 / Tier 2 supplier experience strongly preferred If you have strong automotive release engineering experience and want to work in a high-impact Design Release Engineer role, apply today. *
